About Us

I started Career Onward after launching two global internship programs; one for a $500M telecom company and the other for a social fashion business. After seeing first-hand the challenges college students and new graduates faced assessing and then packaging their skills, interests and experience into career assets and stories in a way that translates effectively to employers, I knew I wanted to help as many young people as possible make a successful transition from college to professional careers.

Each plan is personalized as no two students or young professionals are alike, even if they have identical majors and GPA’s. Not only do we get to know each client, but we also put the same time and attention into reviewing, vetting and recommending target companies to ensure that they have a good track record and will provide an environment for young people to thrive.

After 8 years, I’ve been humbled that the business is 98% referrals, students telling students and parents talking with other parents about our services. We’ve been hybrid since day 1, working both virtually and in-person with clients nationally and internationally as this is the method of communication and collaboration utilized for decades in the corporate world. The reality is that video will be used extensively throughout the job search process for interviews even when the Covid health crisis subsides.

We have added young professional services based on demand given that we maintain deep relationships with our past clients, some of whom are now in their late 20’s/early 30’s. We’re proud that our clients trust us to help them prepare for performance reviews, assess new internal or external job opportunities and coach them on interviews for grad school.

I am a featured speaker and panel participant for state and national conferences on the topics of Career Advising and Millennial/Gen Z Hiring. I also conduct career workshops and seminars on university campuses throughout Texas. I earned my National Career Development Facilitator certificate and have an Industrial Management/Engineering (BSIM) degree from Purdue University. I am a proud member of National Career Development Association (NCDA) and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

Personally, I’ve been married for 35 years and have two sons; a 29 year old Longhorn and a 27 year old Aggie. We often joke that my nest is not empty, but overflowing with young people – just the way I like it! On weekends, I enjoy walks along Lady Bird Lake, vanilla lattes and red wine.
